We need you – we’re always looking to grow our IMA Family

We rely on our volunteers to help us carry out the important work we do in bringing communities together. From the friendly faces that greet you at reception, to our enthusiastic tour guides and creative art workshop assistants – we have a role at IMA to suit everyone, irrespective of cultural or religious background.

By volunteering at the IMA, you will have the opportunity to:

I wanted to learn more about my roots, connect with people and learn how to communicate.

Tour Guide

Are you an imaginative, enthusiastic and effective communicator? The IMA is seeking Tour Guides to join the volunteer team and play a key role in connecting and inspiring our school and adult visitors.

Art Workshop Assistant

If you’re passionate about the arts and looking to develop your creative flair and skills, the IMA is seeking Art Workshop Assistants to join the volunteer team to engage and assist students and participants in their workshops.

Gift Shop Assistant

If you are passionate about customer service and have a knack for retail, the IMA is seeking Gift Shop Assistants to join the volunteer team to be the welcoming and friendly face of the Museum.

Volunteers can perform more than one role. These are on-going casual roles that require commitment for at least 6 months. All volunteers will report to IMA’s Volunteer Coordinator and must currently hold, or be willing to apply for a Volunteer Working with Children’s Card.
