From the earliest times Persia has been famed as a major centre of Oriental rugs and carpet weaving.

Persian carpets, traditionally hand woven, have a certain built-in value that ranks them above machine made rugs. Additionally the series of choices of twisting and weaving give the piece personality and uniqueness. First used by shepherds to shield themselves from the wind, and to then keep their feet off cool surfaces.

Over the centuries, rug makers developed various techniques to weave amazing patterns and turned it into a form of art!

Join us in this workshop where we create our rugs using thread and needle. Using traditional colours, deep reds, cream white and mocha browns, weave your own mini Persian carpet to take home!
