Storytelling: Docklands Girl
10 July 2019
Join author Tamara D’Mello and her daughter Aria in this booking reading and block printing activity!
Time : 11:00am - 12:00pm
Suitable for ages : 6+
We will be drawing a lively picture of the vibrant city suburb from the perspective of Aria. It has swans, jellyfish, and even a big wheel. Although, Aria’s parents grew up in places far away from Docklands, they love to share those places with her.
Throughout the book, we will be on a journey with some of Docklands' iconic landmarks. Including Cow Up A Tree, Victoria Harbour, Etihad Stadium and Eaglehawk Bunjil.
After the storytelling adventure, join Tamara in block painting with all these different dyes and stamps. In fact it's a traditional art in India since the 12th century, and this is thought to be around 2,000 years old. We will decorate pouches with stamps and dyes, and take home a part of India.
