Participants will be creating their own coral inspired pieces through learning the ancient art of wet felting, wherein pieces of wool are turned into a single fabric using soapy water, compression and repeated agitation.

In this workshop, Maya will focus on resist felting, a technique where the artist must prevent the two sides of the felt from sticking together.

The three-dimensional piece must not be completely enclosed, it needs an opening just like a bowl or vase. Using colourful bundles of wool, participants will create vessels, using the resist technique, inspired by coral reefs. Participants will then be able to take their creations home.
