Mashrabiya (pronounced mash-ra-bee-yah) is a decorative wall that also functions as a window screen. Commonly found in mosques and a decorative feature in Islamic architecture, it helps to filter light and air between two spaces. Similar to tinted windows, people can look out without being seen!

For this workshop we will be creating a mashrabiya lamp. We will colour in designs and put them over a lamp to scatter patterns on our walls! After you have completed your lamps, take them home and use them as night lights!
