Are your children curious about different cultures? Are they fascinated by the rich tapestry of architectural wonders around the world? We have the ideal workshop for them: introducing our Build a Mosque workshop at Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub.

A mosque is a place of prayer for Muslims. According to TRT World (2021), there are 3.6 million mosques right around the world, from Sydney to Spain to Saudi Arabia.

During our Build a Mosque workshop, children will explore the uniqueness of mosque architecture. From the soaring minarets of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul to the intricate geometric patterns of the Alhambra in Granada, they will learn about different mosque designs across diverse cultures. Our facilitator will take them on a visual tour, sharing fascinating stories and fun facts about these magnificent structures.

After gaining inspiration from these awe-inspiring landmarks, it's time for your little architects to put their creativity to work! In our Build a Mosque workshop, children will have the opportunity to design and construct their own miniature mosques using a variety of materials. They will learn about the different architectural elements, such as domes, arches, and minarets, and discover how they come together to create a harmonious whole.

All participants will get to take their completed craft home.

Don't miss this opportunity for your children to embark on a captivating architectural adventure! Secure their spot by registering for our Build a Mosque workshop today.

Please note: this workshop is held at the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub. All participants are required to meet directly at the venue.

This workshop is supported by Banyule City Council.
