Islamic Architecture encompasses a wide range of both secular and religious buildings

Islamic architecture, through retaining great strength from a firm spiritual foundation, encompasses a wide range of both secular and religious buildings and styles from the 7th century CE in the Middle-East fanning across the world to the present day. A vastly complex and original vocabulary developed over time from the principal Islamic architectural types in mosques, tombs, palaces, forts, schools and urban buildings.

This Gallery showcases religious buildings such as the historical Blue Mosque in Turkey, the Great Mosque of Cordoba in Spain, and the modern Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Dubai. Guests can learn more about Islam’s rich architectural history and modern developments.
